1. AV:
Next week, we have a chance to change politics for good, to make sure more voices are heard, to make MPs worker harder for your support, to make MPs reach out to voters of all backgrounds and not just their core support.
The Alternative Vote is a small change that will make a big difference. It is a once in a generation chance to make our democracy better. When we have a chance like this we must seize it.
2. Local elections:
Lib Dem councils are getting the tough decisions right. We are not closing a single SureStart children’s centre and, where we are in a majority, are not closing a single library.
3. In Government, On your side:
Income Tax:
Lifting nearly 900,000 of the lowest paid workers out of Income Tax altogether and giving a £200 tax cut to 23m people on low and middle incomes. This is straight from the front page of our manifesto to the pockets of millions of taxpayers.
Pensions:
Restoring the earnings link to pensions. A pensioner retiring today on a basic state pension will get £15,000 more over their retirement than they would have under Labour.
Pupil Premium:
We are investing £650m, rising to £2.5bn, aimed at the most disadvantage children in schools.
Apprenticeships:
We are creating more apprenticeships than Britain has ever had before – an extra 250,000 over this Parliament
