Liberal Democrats Holyrood March Briefing

A few points from today's update...

Scotland Bill

On Thursday a special Scottish Parliament committee will publish its report on the Scotland Bill. This is UK legislation which brings into law the greater powers for the Scottish Parliament proposed by the Calman Commission. The comprehensive committee report is still to be published but is expected to comprehensively rubbish the SNP’s claims about the inadequacy of the Scotland Bill and to provide robust information that will be useful for candidates.

Polling Day 2016

The Scottish Parliament will debate a motion tomorrow to move the subsequent Scottish Parliament election to May 2016 to avoid a clash with the UK election scheduled for May 2015.
