Saltcoats & Stevenston By-Election Liberal Democrat Candidate

Local businessman, Gordon Bain has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate in the Saltcoats and Stevenston by-election.
Gordon was born in 1977 and has lived and worked within North Ayrshire for the past 34 years. He grew up in Ardrossan and has family and friends living throughout the three towns. Gordon now lives in Irvine with his partner and young family.
Gordon worked for a computer manufacturing company based in Stevenston before returning to further education to study software development. Since graduating Gordon has worked as an IT professional and recently established a website design company based here in Ayrshire.
In his spare time Gordon enjoys hill walking and going out for something to eat at local restaurants with family and friends.
Commenting on his selection Gordon said,
“I'm delighted to have been chosen as the Lib Dem candidate. As a dedicated Liberal Democrat I've campaigned across Ayrshire. I believe that more work has to be done to stimulate the local economy and create job opportunities for local residents. If elected I'd also fight for more youth activities running across Saltcoats and Stevenston to help tackle anti-social behaviour.”
Cllr Ruby Kirkwood, Lib Dem group Council group leader added,
“I know Gordon to be a hard worker and believe that he would fight hard for his constituents. He'd make an excellent addition to the Liberal Democrat team on North Ayrshire Council.”
